Discovering the Biodiversity of Puntarenas Province

Puntarenas, Costa Rica's largest province, is famous for its varied natural beauty. From the paradisiacal beaches that stretch along the Pacific coast to the depths of its lush forests, this province boasts an extraordinary variety of ecosystems. Visitors can explore lush mangrove swamps, discover waterfalls, and hike through dense jungles teeming with wildlife.

The province is dotted with picturesque coastal towns and fishing villages where you can immerse yourself in the local culture. There are the vibrant towns of Jaco, Montezuma, Quepos, and Santa Teresa, famous for their surfing destinations and vibrant nightlife.

But Puntarenas is not all about the beach. There are places like Monteverde, full of cloud forests, and the Osa Peninsula where you can see a lot of wildlife.

Puntarenas is also the proud home of two of the most precious jewels on the planet: Cocos Island and Corcovado National Park. Cocos Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its unparalleled marine biodiversity. Corcovado National Park, on the other hand, is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. Both are a paradise for nature and fauna lovers.
